Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a young girl of just five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor by the age of six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing, dancing and acting. From the age of 10, she took part as the lead in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. The casting process began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama instructor. After eight auditions consistently, the producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film appearance came as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film was also the film that was most popular in 2001. Its opening days and weekends of ticket sales were record-breaking. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, and especially the young performers. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the film.
